Safety Features

2021 MAZDA CX-30 Safety ReviewThe Mazda CX-30 has a ton of different safety features designed to keep you safe and give you peace of mind while you’re on the go. Standard in the Mazda CX-30, you’ll get advanced dual front air bags, front seat-mounted side-impact air bags and side-impact air curtains, and driver’s and front passenger’s knee air bags.

If you’re driving on a slippery road and your vehicle begins to skid, the standard Dynamic Stability Control with Traction Control System kicks in. This system will take control of your SUV, direct engine output and brakes to stop the skidding, and help you maintain control of your Mazda CX-30.

i-ACTIVSENSE® Safety Technology

To enhance your safety and driving experience, the Mazda CX-30 has a driver-assist and safety suite called i-Activsense®. Some of the features in this suite are standard, while others can be added on.

If you’re someone who spends a lot of time on the road, standard Driver Attention Alert might be a helpful feature for you. This feature monitors your driving patterns. If it detects distracted or drowsy driving, your SUV will alert you that you might need a break.

When you’re on the highway, two helpful driver-assist features are the standard Lane Departure Warning System and Lane-keep Assist. The first system monitors your position in your lane. If you unintentionally drift, it will warn you. If you don’t correct the drift, the Lane-keep Assist will help steer your SUV back into your lane.

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Crash Tests

When you’re considering a vehicle, one way to gauge its safety ratings is to take a look at its performance in crash tests. The NHTSA tests vehicles to give consumers an idea of how safe cars are, including the Mazda CX-30.

There are three types of tests: frontal crash tests, side crash tests, and a rollover test. Each of these tests gets a rating out of five stars, and then the vehicle has an overall rating out of five stars. How did the 2021 Mazda CX-30 do?

The Mazda CX-30 received a 5-Star Overall Safety Rating from the NHTSA. The Mazda CX-30 earned five stars on the frontal crash tests as well as the side crash tests. The Mazda CX-30 also earned four stars on the rollover test. Overall, what this means is that the Mazda CX-30 is a safe vehicle.
